Singing for the Brain was a project delivered by Shropshire Music Service in partnership with Coverage Care. It was specifically designed to ‘help people with dementia to feel part of a society where they have a right to acceptance, artistic expression and social stimulation’.
Delivered in four care homes across the county, across ten weeks, these sessions utilised the power of music and singing to help those living with dementia create connections with each other, the music, their carers and family and friends.
Approved by the Alzheimer’s Society, ‘Singing for the Brain’ is a shared cultural activity that improves wellbeing for all those who participate.
