Vibrant Shropshire is the county's Cultural Compact

Vibrant Shropshire: A Cultural Compact is part of a national network of compacts originally set up by Arts Council England and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. Vibrant Shropshire is now funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Vibrant Shropshire aims to support the county’s cultural sector through information, networking, training, grants and projects.

This is Shropshire: Pentabus' 'Home is Here' Project

Pentabus, the nation’s rural theatre, responded to the Vibrant Shropshire commission by connecting residents from five care homes with pupils from five primary schools across the county. Through shared stories, memories and reflections on community life, the children gathered inspiration for poetry and song writing sessions back in their classrooms.

Shropshire Music Service ‘Singing for the Brain’ to support dementia care through music

Shropshire Music Service’s (SMS) contribution to the ‘This is Shropshire’ arts programme was inspired by the Alzheimer’s Society’s ‘Singing for the Brain’ programme, which promotes acceptance, artistic expression and social stimulation for people with dementia.
