Join us for a practical and informative training session designed to help arts, culture, heritage and tourism organisations create more accessible and inclusive experiences for everyone.
Combining presentations, interactive activities and discussion, this session will explore some of the barriers that disabled people, their families, carers and friends may face when accessing attractions, events, activities, goods and services.
Participants will learn about practical quick wins and low-cost solutions that can help overcome these barriers and improve the visitor experience for more people.
A warm welcome is often the first step in creating an inclusive experience. The workshop will explore how positive attitudes, inclusive communication and good customer service can help visitors feel valued, respected and confident from the moment they engage with your organisation.
The training will also cover the information organisations can provide to help people decide whether a venue, activity or event is suitable for their requirements, enabling visitors to plan with confidence before they arrive.
There will be opportunities to share what has worked well within your organisation, discuss areas for improvement, and learn from the experiences of others. Attendees will also be signposted to trusted resources, toolkits and guidance to support ongoing accessibility improvements. Whether you are just starting your accessibility journey or looking to build on existing good practice, this workshop will provide practical ideas, useful tools and increased confidence to help make your organisation or business welcoming, accessible and inclusive for more visitors.
